Problem

How is the automatic frequency range for SEA files calculated?

Solution

Frequency is denoted by f.
Given a spectrum S(f), and a permissible fractional energy loss, which is 0.1% in the Bladed case:
Looking at the curve of S(f) against f, with f on the x axis and S(f) on the y axis:

Find the intermediate value sought_area = 0.5 * FractionalEnergyLoss * (entire area under S(f))

Lower limit is found by going in small frequency steps along x axis from zero, until the area under S(f) to the left of current position
is equal to sought_area. Then note the current position and use this as lower limit.

For upper limit, repeat the process going backwards along the x axis starting from infinite frequency (in practice just use a very large value).
